Infrastructure 2.0 Panel Discussion with Infoblox & Cisco (Part 4/11)

Monday, August 30th, 2010

Register Here to View the Entire Session with Slides: www.infoblox.com This 11-part video series features a panel discussion with Infoblox and Cisco (recorded Jan 15th, 2009 at the Fairmont Hotel, San Jose) the purpose of which was to have a discussion about how key initiatives will require major transformations in the network, well beyond the need for more feeds and higher speeds. We’ve been thinking about these issues and Infoblox for some time. As we’ve engaged with our customers (many of whom operate multiple date centers and complex global networks) we started asking networking people about how things like virtualization and cloud computing are impacting network design and operation. And we were struck by the response, which more often than not was, Theres not really much of an impact at all. What seemed curios to us was that the level of dynamism in clients, servers and applications was exploding and becoming increasingly automated, while the network (in terms of configuration and management) - and in particular core network services was still static in most organizations. That seemed like a big disconnect to us, and so we started blogging about these issues (www.infra20.com) and the concept of dynamic infrastructure. The response has been overwhelming, so many people, customers, industry analysts, and other vendors have jumped into the conversation and the concept has grown. Were still in the early phases of this conversation and our purpose in this 11-part video
